Founded to close a gap
we kept watching people fall into.

Levantar AI Limited was founded in 2025 by two people who had spent their careers delivering critical systems and had grown tired of watching AI arrive badly: bought before it was understood, deployed before it was measured, and defended after it had stopped paying.

AI is being adopted poorly, and there's a gap in the market for an expert guide who has actually built and run these systems. That gap is the company in one line: we help you find where AI pays before you commit, make it safe to rely on, and scale the parts that earn it.

Our name comes from the Spanish word "levantar" — to rise, to lift up. It still describes the job: lifting organisations over the gap between adopting AI and gaining from it. Everything we advise on is something we operate ourselves, which is why we can be specific about how these systems fail, and honest about when not to build one.

Measure before you build

The first deliverable is evidence, never a demo. If we can't measure the value, we haven't found it yet.

Keep humans in control

AI should augment human decision-making, not replace it. Autonomy is earned one measured step at a time.

Solve real problems

AI should solve real problems today, not chase hype. The use case has to survive contact with a spreadsheet.

Use AI securely

Security and quality don't have to be sacrificed for innovation. We assume these systems will be attacked, because they are.

Use AI transparently

No black boxes. You should understand and own the AI you use, and be able to show an auditor exactly what it did.

Say the unwelcome thing

If the evidence says don't build, we'll tell you. That advice is worth more than the work it costs us.

Andy Rea

Andy Rea

Co-founder

Andy leads our technology function, focusing on cloud architecture, backend engineering and security. He shapes the technical direction of our products, works hands-on across our platforms, and supports client delivery by helping teams simplify complex problems and strengthen their security and performance.

Andy is a technical architect and software engineer with over 20 years' experience delivering secure, resilient services across UK Government and the private sector. He specialises in simplifying complex problems, strengthening cyber security, and improving the performance of critical platforms.

He has led major work for HMRC, DEFRA, DWP and DfT, including architecting the award-winning Blue Badge Digital Service, and served as a technical reviewer for the Universal Credit Digital Service. In the private sector, he has delivered secure card-management and digital services for HSBC and First Direct.

Andy Goundry

Andy Goundry

Co-founder

Andy leads our business and product development, focusing on strategy, design and client delivery. He shapes the direction of our products, works hands-on across technical implementation, and supports clients by helping them turn ideas into production-ready platforms.

Andy has over 25 years' experience leading digital organisations, teams and transformations. As Managing Director at Equal Experts he grew his business unit to over 600 senior software and delivery experts, supported dozens of client digital transformations, and grew revenue to over £60m. At AND Digital he set up a new business unit of over 70 software and delivery specialists and made it profitable within three months.

As CTO at Assetz Capital he guided the transition to institutional lending with fractional CTO leadership, strengthening cybersecurity and embedding ways of working that aligned business needs with delivery. At startups Split The Bills (as CTO) and Health2Works (as Head of Engineering) he led and scaled engineering teams and owned technical strategy and delivery.
