What it is

Every initiative on your roadmap gets assessed the same way: what it is actually worth, what it will cost to run, and what would have to be true for it to work. The output is a verdict you can defend in a room — back it, fix it, or stop funding it — with the reasoning attached rather than the conclusion alone.

It runs in Opptora, the diagnostic tool we built and use on our own initiatives, so assessments are consistent between initiatives and comparable over time. The cost side of a verdict is not theory to us either: we build cost modelling into our own products, including Upcast.Social.

Why it doesn't stop

Roadmaps move, costs drift and the models change underneath you. A verdict from six months ago is not a verdict any more, which is why this is a service rather than a report: new initiatives are assessed as they appear, and live ones are re-checked against what they actually returned.

That second half is where most of the value sits. Assessing an idea is cheap. Finding out whether it delivered what it promised, and acting on the answer, is the part organisations skip.
